Norma was born in Rehoboth Church Va. Moving at an early age with her parents to Denbigh Va. Upon graduation from Warwick High School she moved to Danville and graduated from DCC.
She has taken Art Classes at VPI and Averett College. She continues to attend Art work shops in North and South Carolina and in Europe, with instructors like Gerald Bromer, Serge Hollenback, Barbara Nechi, Tony Couch, Robert Burridge and Charles Gruppe.
Norma is a charter member of the Danville Art League, she has served on the board in several capacities. Norma’s work is on display at the Danville Museum, Destination Gallery in South Boston Va. Charleston Art Market Charleston SC. Rosemont Wine and Art Gallery South Hill Va. Because of her love for outdoor Art Shows hangs in many homes and business places in the Eastern United States.
While painting in her studio, she draws inspiration from her love of gardening, the ocean, Charleston SC. As well as whatever her camera may have captured on trips she takes and has taken to Hawaii, Spain, Greece, France and other European Countries.
Having won numerous awards throughout the years, she hopes others will have a peaceful contemplation as they view her work. She would like the viewer to experience a joy of memories of places they have encountered in life.
